If you don’t want to witness Amsterdam’s Global Charming entertain greatness, you need to give your head a wobble. Look what those wallflowers at Louder than War wrote about a recent gig in Bratislava: "Amsterdam’s post-post-punks Global Charming were ruthless; surgical in their use of stagecraft, allowing quieter newer, more abstract numbers create a tense, slightly paranoid landscape that slowly pressed the audience in one direction, like sheep being unwittingly herded towards a pen." Yowsa.
Producer ZOUJ is Adam Abdelkader Lenox. Along with his live band (probably the hottest and most groovy thing to come out of Germany in years), Lenox creates "wildly imaginative contemporary music" that begs, steals and borrows from every genre imaginable. The music is much more than the sum of its parts. Unmissable.
