Feast, Tim Leyendekker, 85 minuten, 2021

Prince of Muck, Cindy Jansen, fragment, 2021

Feast, Tim Leyendekker, 85 minutes, 2021

There was music, wine, but also hypodermic needles: the many objects from a crime scene are displayed on a table. The starting point is the disturbing Groningen HIV case, in which men were deliberately drugged and injected with infected blood during parties. Feast is a film about deep primary emotions like lust, aggression and trust in search for that which took place at the time. Fictional and documentary parts, with always a different atmosphere and design, are combined in an attempt to shine new light on the extraordinarily shocking series of events. Tim Leyendekker studied at the WdKa and the Sandberg Institute. He makes film and video art in which he explores the conceptual and formal boundaries of cinema as a narrative medium. Feast (nominated for a Tiger Award) is his first feature film.

Prince of Muck, Cindy Jansen, excerpt, 2021

Near the west coast of Scotland lies the Island of Muck. It has been owned for over a century by the MacEwen family, headed by ‘Prince of Muck’, Lawrence. As Laird, his life’s mission is to preserve the fragile society on this island, so that it can be passed on to his son and future generations. Moving along with the rhythm of the island, we follow the stiff but erect Lawrence. He drives the cattle with his grandchildren, cuddles the cows and reads excerpts from diaries going back decades. Growing aware that the future belongs to others, he casts a glance back, reciting the poetry and tides he memorized as a child. Filmmaker and photographer Cindy Jansen studied at the art academy in Arnhem and international script development and directors program at Binger Filmlab.
