Sonic Witch Choir is ontstaan vanuit collectieve research naar geluidsgolven en de stem als wegwijzers in een landschap dat het zichtbare ontstijgt. Het koor gaat al zingend een dialoog aan met zangmelodieën uit andere tijden, heelallen en dimensies, terwijl het ondertussen een nieuwe partituur creëert uit alles wat genegeerd werd, verwaarloosd, de mond gesnoerd: gedempte tonen, de geheime bronnen van ondergrondse rivieren, gefluister en onhoorbare zuchten.

De voorstelling bestaat uit een vocale compositie die door Alexandra Duvekot en Rosa Ronsdorf is ontwikkeld bij het Dutch Art Institute in 2021, plus een compositie voor klankschalen en cello. De compositie beweegt zich vanuit een dialoog met een schaduw naar een muur met vogels waar niemand mee kan concurreren terwijl de vogels er wel vrijelijk doorheen vliegen. Het Franse stuk is een poëtische protestcanon over water en de zee, die ook moeder en begraafplaats is.

Sonic Witch Choir originated from collective research into sound waves and the voice as signposts in a landscape that transcends the visible. While singing, the choir enters into a dialogue with song melodies from other times, universes and dimensions, creating a new score from everything that has been ignored, neglected or silenced: muffled tones, the secret sources of underground rivers, whispers and inaudible sighs.

The performance consists of a vocal composition developed by Alexandra Duvekot and Rosa Ronsdorf at the Dutch Art Institute in 2021, plus a composition for singing bowls and cello. The composition moves from a dialogue with a shadow to a wall with birds that no one can compete with while the birds fly freely through it. The French piece is a poetic protest canon about water and the sea, which is also mother and burial place.
