Do you have a housing problem? Are you scared to open that letter from Belastingdienst? Do you experience ecoanxiety? Are you worried about the gas prices? Maybe you are in a period of dating fatigue? Then this workshop is for you!
This workshop will use the role of zines as a form of creative resistance to cope with everyday struggles. You will learn different storytelling methods, selection and editing processes, binding options and, of course, how to easily make a handmade DIY zine.
After the main workshop, there will be a collective reflection on any frustrations by brainstorming, exchanging ideas, proposing format possibilities, before (finally) diving into the zine-making process. In the end, the “How to deal with…” mega-zine (a collection of your individual zines showing creative ways of how to cope with day-to-day problems) will be created.
Come with your frustration, leave with a practical guide in a zine!
This workshop is hosted by Cartography Digest, Cartography Digest is an alternative platform, a playground, a place yet to become. It is the collaborative effort of Dafni Melidou and Rafael Roncato, two artists who love and hate the illusions of the image. Through group efforts that promote creativity and experimentation, their goal is to question conventional ideas about image production, distribution and consumption.
