Another edition in one of the most adventurous music series at WORM! …which is all about improvised music. Good to know: this time one of the performers improvises with images; moving images, stills:

Raluca Croitoru
Raluca is a member of the analogue film coop at WORM called Filmwerkplaats. She already impressed audiences improvising in real time with her moving images from rattling projectors, and will now engage with the Electric Umbrella sounds that will rattle along.

The sounds will come from these people:

Aseo & Chieko feat. Kana Fuefuki

Aseo is a pianist and composer born in Vienna, Austria. He started to play the piano the age of 6. He was also a member of the famous Vienna Boy’s Choir! In 2022 Aseo obtained his master degree in music from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague and is based in the Netherlands since. He became very active in the music scene, with his own Aseo Trio, as well as various other ensembles. Last but not least he is a member of the Jong Metropole which is a unique collaboration between the Metropole Orkest, the NJO (National Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands) and the NJJO (National Jazz Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands).
Chieko is a cellist, composer, vocalist and interdisciplinary artist from Amsterdam with Brazilian/Japanese roots. She has developed her own voice in music as a creative artist, blending jazz, improvisation and latin-american music with her background of classical music. This has led to worldwide tours, and appearances on national television, for instance with her own Chieko Collective.
Her heart is in interdisciplinary collaborations and free improvisation together with dancers, actors, poets and and film makers. This Electric Umbrella sounds like a perfect occasion.
Kana Fuefuki is a composer and flautist playing a wide variety of flutes, like the Shinobue (Japanese bamboo flute), the ocarina and the recorder. She playedall over the world with a great number of musicians in various fields such as Latin, Jazz or traditional Japanese Music.

The Unruly Strings
A mini-orchestra made up of two members of RE#SISTER: Carolien and Mariëtte. They bring a nice array of small synthesizers, wind instruments, small percussion and their voices. But will they bring strings? We shall see…
