CULTFILM: BUT FilmFestival preview

On the 31st of August begins the annual BUT film festival, this time with a focus on vigilante- and revenge films. In preparation for this event, we’ll screen VFW – a tribute to 80s action films, in which war veterans (played by legends like Fred Williamson (Vigilante!), Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe), a.o.) have to defend themselves in a local veteran bar against drug-crazed punks. A synth-heavy soundtrack accompanies ultra-violent scenes, making this a fun ride for all VHS exploitation fans!
The BUT film festival is from 31/8 until 4/9 and is dedicated to B-movies, Underground & Trash cinema and has a strong tie with the Cultfilm-program in WORM. VFW will be introduced by Alex, who is both Cultfilm- and BUT head honcho, who will explain the upcoming program in more detail.

31 augustus begint het BUT filmfestival met speciale aandacht voor vigilante-films. Ter voorbereiding vertonen wij VFW – een eerbetoon aan jaren 80 actiefilms – waarin een groep oorlogsveteranen (met o.a. Fred Williamson (Vigilante!) en Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) zich in een veteranenkroeg moet verdedigen tegen junkie-punkers. Met een synth-soundtrack en gory scenes is dit een tip voor alle VHS exploitation-liefhebbers.
Het BUT filmfestival vindt plaats van 31/8 tot en met 4/9 en is gewijd aan B-movies, Underground & Trash cinema. VFW wordt geïntroduceerd door Alex, die zowel Cultfilm als BUT head honcho is. Het festivalprogramma zal ook een korte toelichting krijgen.
