This year Cinema Colombiano invites you to travel along with them through tropical landscapes, páramos, rivers and roads. The film festival is dedicated to Visiones de la Tierra, and reflects on the changes to the planet and what its species are going through. The program includes various Colombian films that investigate the destruction of the planet, in connection with the historical over-exploitation of natural resources. You will see characters who wonder whether to live in the countryside or be carried away by the city. Others who carry the ancient indigenous wisdom and resist the destruction of ecosystems.
The festival will be spread over two days, both filled with an unique selection of films. Cinema Colombiano #8 kicks off at Filmhuis CAVIA in Amsterdam on the 16th of September, and on the 23rd of September it will close down at WORM Rotterdam. Aside from films, there will be Colombian bites and, of course, music!
WORM will be host to the second day of the festival (more info on the first day in Cavia Amsterdam can be found on www.cinecol.nl). All films will have English subtitles, and aside from the films, there will be live gaita music from the London Gaita Social Club! Also, together with Club WORM, a club night will be organized. And regular visitors know: there will be empanadas!
