There is a desperate need for cheap, skilled labour in Japan but foreign workers tend to "stand out". To make it easier for foreign workers to blend in, a secret drug called tanuki is used making them indistinguishable in speech and appearance from the local population. Tanya benefits from this drug but can she deal with the side effects?

Deerman experiences hallucinations. He cannot find a job, has troubles with his girlfriend and spends his nights drinking an addictive liquor and philosphying about life, war, love, sex, the upper class and freedom. The absurdity of this experimental movie by film director HAIENA (Tokyo, 1977) is enhanced by the patchwork style of images that follow the protagonist’s streams of consciousness, not always in a linear way.
