Bizarre Workshop – Angel Delight Residency

Yamuna Forzani is hosting a bizarre workshop in preparation for her Utopia III Ball, the category is calling for ‘Garbage Island.’

“Collect all your garbage and make a bizarre effect inspired by the harrowing truth that is GARBAGE ISLAND. What is Garbage Island, you ask? An island in the ocean made from collected plastic and ocean waste. Who lives on garbage island? These are the questions you need to ask yourself before you come to the workshop.”

In this workshop you will learn about the category and create a look inspired by Garbage Island. please bring your rubbish with you as well as other items you find inspiring!

You can also join this workshop if you are not planning to walk the ball and are simply curious about the category and how to create things from junk. Recycling and having fun is the main goal of this workshop. If you are shy we can work in groups. All levels are welcome!

There will be 15 presale tickets available, and 10 tickets at the door.

You will be required to wear a mask while moving in the space.


The Angel Delight Residency surrounds the concepts and ideologies of Yamuna Forzani’s Utopia Ball. During 13- 16 September there will be a week or performative training camps, a series of workshops that give a deeper understanding and context of the ballroom scene. The climax of this residency will be Yamuna Forazni’s fashion show on 24 September. This show will give an insight into the magical world of ballroom and showcase Forzani’s latest collection.

Yamuna Forzani is a multidisciplinary artist and designer from the UK, who graduated from The Royal Academy of Art. She is also a member of the ballroom scene as a member of Rotterdams Kiki House of Angels and internationally a member of the House of Comme Des Garcons. The first Utopia Ball x Fashion Show took place in 2018 in the Hague.
