Panel Discussion: Feminist Leadership in Times of Crisis

The Feminist Leadership panel taking place on International Women’s Day also touched on the power of female pleasure, but from the perspective of another amazing black, queer author, adrienne maree brown. adrienne wrotePleasure Activism which takes a more practical approach to exercise and prioritising female pleasure.

The panel featured women visionaries, activists and leaders coming from various perspectives. Naomie Pieter who is an intersectional queer and anti-racist activist, co-founder of “Black Queer & Trans Resistance NL”, also a founder of Black Pride NL. On the panel was also Jeanette Chedda, she is a politician from the party BIJ1. At that time Jeanette was very much in the heat of an election campaign for the 2021 general elections in the run for a spot at the Second Chamber. Teresa Borasino organiser of “Fossil Free Culture” and a very special guest from St. Martin practising an exemplary female leadership in times of crisis, her excellency: Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs.

Jeanette Chedda and her excellency Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs in conversation about ableism.

Writer and community activator Yolanda Rother did an amazing job moderating the discussion. You should read her article “9 takeaways from IWD 2021” where she reviews the key aspects each panellist brought to the discussion. It was a very vibrant conversation during which these new and experienced leaders did not hold back! They laid their views on the table. Now, a truthful conversation that I like to watch and engage in. It was a breath of fresh air.
