O. LAB: SONOROUS BREATHING

O. Lab: Sonorous Breathing is a performance featuring a singer/performer whose movements determine the sonority of her breathing and vocal emission, as well as the dynamics of visual effects. In this work, Janneke van der Putten takes you on a journey of vocal sounds and shimmering lights, an invitation to participate generously in the physicality of the scene. Within her actions, a constant metamorphosis takes place: from bird to bear, from male to female. Fuelled by her vocal acrobatics, Riccardo Santalucia’s lighting design expands the performer’s body and paints an interactive scenography, a cosmos made of refractions of light.

Research question: How can the visual rhythm of moving light reflections work as scenography and as visualisation of the performer’s physicality and sonic intensity?

As the visitor, you are invited to watch and express your valuable opinions about prototypes and works in progress. O. Lab in WORM is one big creative space and you will be sitting in the front row as the processes unfold!
