Open studio: Absence/Presence research of the Genetic Choir

The Genetic Choir is working on a new project, in which they want to explore the state of being absent and being present. They do this through sound and music, coupled with a self-reactive light system and the swarm composition approach of the Genetic Choir. Collaborators for these research days are, next to the Genetic Choir singers: NOW (Marion Tränkle and Ivo Bol)

You are welcome to join the last afternoon of research, in an open studio setting from 14:30-16:00.

The Genetic Choir is a vocal ensemble that performs concerts in which the music is composed on the spot. The vocalists train themselves as a musical organism, a small human society that interacts in sound and silence, becoming music. Genetic Choir compositions create meaning and beauty from randomness, not unlike genes that multiply and mutate, or oscillators that sync with each other after a certain tipping point.
