Op 1 maart presenteert WORM Rotterdam een avond rondom Wij Zijn Het Archief (ENG: We Are the Archive, 2024), een filmscreening en ontmoetingsmoment dat het verborgen verleden en het levende heden van de zwarte queer gemeenschap in Nederland centraal stelt. Dit programma is een samenwerking tussen het Duizend Kleuren Project, DARKMATTER Collective en KLAUW Collective.
De middag opent met een poëtische bijdrage van Fyn Paulina Bonita, waarna de vertoning van Wij Zijn Het Archief volgt, een documentaire waarin jonge queer mensen van kleur in gesprek gaan met de vrouwen van Stichting Mil Colores. Sinds 2000 creëert Mil Colores ontmoetingsplekken voor vrouwen met verschillende etnische achtergronden en gender- en seksuele identiteiten. De film onderzoekt vragen als: op wiens schouders staan we als queer gemeenschap? Wat verbindt ons met de generaties vóór ons, en wat kunnen we van elkaar leren?
Na de screening vindt een verdiepend gesprek plaats tussen Imane Berkane (KLAUW Collective) en Ligya Wachter (Mil Colores), gemodereerd door Gita Buhari. In dit gesprek wordt gereflecteerd op de film en op het belang van intergenerationele uitwisseling binnen gemarginaliseerde gemeenschappen.
We sluiten de middag af met een informele borrel en snacks in Wunderbar, waar ruimte is om elkaar te ontmoeten en het gesprek voort te zetten.
Dit programma is een samenwerking tussen het Duizend Kleuren Project, DARKMATTER Collective en KLAUW Collective. Het Duizend Kleuren Project onderzoekt op wiens schouders de queer gemeenschap vandaag de dag staat, en gebruikt documentaire en ontmoeting als middel om verbinding te creëren in tijden van polarisatie. Het project wordt gedragen door een interdisciplinair team van queer makers met achtergronden in visual anthropology, public history, film en theater.
DARKMATTER Collective is een Nederlands grassroots collectief van kunstenaars, onderzoekers, educators en activisten, die opereren vanuit Amsterdam, Rotterdam en Middelburg. Vanuit de kruising tussen kunst, activisme en pedagogiek maken zij onzichtbare geschiedenissen en stemmen zichtbaar.
KLAUW Collective is een Rotterdams multidisciplinair collectief dat zich richt op het creëren van ruimte en zichtbaarheid voor BPOC- en queer gemeenschappen.

On March 1st, WORM Rotterdam hosts an evening centered around Wij Zijn Het Archief (We Are the Archive), a film screening and gathering that explores the hidden past and living present of the Black queer community in the Netherlands. The program is a collaboration between the Duizend Kleuren Project, DARKMATTER Collective and KLAUW Collective.
This day event opens with a poetic contribution by Fyn Paulina Bonita, followed by the screening of We Are the Archive, a documentary in which young queer people of color meet the women of Stichting Mil Colores. Since 2000, Mil Colores has been creating meeting spaces for women of diverse ethnic backgrounds and sexual and gender identities. The film raises questions such as: whose shoulders do we stand on as a queer community? What connects us to the generations before us, and what can we learn from one another?
After the screening, a conversation will take place between Imane Berkane (KLAUW Collective) and Lygia Wachter (Mil Colores), moderated by Gita Buhari. This talk reflects on the film and on the importance of intergenerational exchange within marginalized communities.
The afternoon concludes with drinks and snacks at Wunderbar, offering space to meet, connect and continue the conversation in an informal setting.

Through documentary film and public gatherings, the project seeks to foster connection and mutual understanding in times of polarization. The team behind the project consists of queer makers with backgrounds in visual anthropology, public history, film and theatre.
DARKMATTER Collective is a Netherlands-based grassroots collective of artists, researchers, educators and activists, operating from Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Middelburg. Working at the intersection of art, activism and pedagogy, they aim to make invisible histories and voices visible.
KLAUW Collective is a Rotterdam-based multidisciplinary collective dedicated to creating platforms and visibility for BPOC and queer communities.
