A new VHVR… From old-fashioned, hyper digital/non-digital electronics to Energetic band prog jazz/non jazz rock. I know, we’re not very good in explaining our weird stuff for all ye brave new haddocks. But come & have a look and listen for yourself.

a.P.A.t.T.
This time VHVR brings you an English ensemble generally known for their avant-garde music, multimedia
installation works and frantic live performance.

a.P.A.t.T. and its nomenclature began with a master tape of ‘anyone in the room’ recordings made at the dawn of the Mini-Disc 4 track era around 1998/99… The music was collage in a way and potentially influenced the non-linear ‘genre-less’ approach and sidestepped into the somewhat anti-hierarchical line-up of the act… And here are now 20 odd years later… 29 members later.

Since their first release, in 2002 a.P.A.t.T. have made over seven albums, numerous singles, endless music videos and short films, received commissions from a Smörgåsbord of leading arts organisations, made a full feature film and even starred and composed for a BBC TV Sitcom. Latest album ‘We’ (2023) just received album of the month and hit album of the year listings from.

The Quietus… “Might include some of the more maddening aspects of modern existence – advertisements and radio jingles, disembodied snippets of movie dialogue, audible incursions of other people’s music on public
transport. This is not so much attention deficit music as attention intensive music which rewards time spent with it, particularly for listeners whose taste remains relatively fluid."

The recently departed Mark Stewart once said: ** “Taste is a form of censorship"**, something a.P.A.t.T. appreciate and toy with the listener’s expectations accordingly. This can sometimes lead to a startling realisation that something potentially unpalatable has appeared on one’s plate, but can also result in eventual appreciation of new flavour combinations.”
