Triangulation
Rotterdam/Ljubljana band Triangulation is releasing their debut album “On Metaphors” this autumn with seagull cries and time-travelling seeds. We invite you to come and meet Andromeda and the rest of this expressive bunch of bards as they spin some tales amongst a curious blend of improv, jazz, pop and theater. We have also invited multi-instrumentalist Cengiz Arslanpay, a musician/magician who will always keep you guessing!
Triangulation is a freak-folk weave of humans, operating at the seams between storytelling, improvisation and theatrical performance. The Rotterdam-based troupe is at ease basking inside thick, engulfing atmospheres full of whimsical tension. Through the use of theatrical gestures, eerie vocal harmonies, free improv, effects, tone-rows and animal sounds (in no particular order), we conjure up themes of love, destiny, time, nature and surrealism, wrapped in an absurd narrative that devours its own tail with lust.

Cengiz Arslanpay
Cengiz Arslanpay is a versatile musician and collector of sounds, whose work is distinguished by its refreshing use of traditional instruments, modular synthesizers, and everyday objects that produce unexpected and intriguing sounds. Moving fluidly between different cultural contexts, he approaches his practice as a musical nomad, carrying a bag full of flutes and a wide-ranging palette of sonic textures. He shapes these influences into music presented through timeless, site-independent performance setups.

De Rotterdam/Ljubljana-band Triangulation brengt dit najaar hun debuutalbum ‘’On Metaphors’’ uit, met meeuwenroepen en zaden die door de tijd heen reizen. We nodigen je uit om kennis te maken met Andromeda en de rest van deze expressieve verhalenvertellers. Ze nemen je mee in hun verhalen met een bijzondere mix van improvisatie, jazz, pop en theater.
We hebben ook multi-instrumentalist Cengiz Arslanpay uitgenodigd: een muzikant/goochelaar die je altijd op het verkeerde been weet te zetten!
Triangulation is een freak-folk van mensen die zich bezig houden met verhalen vertellen, improvisatie en theatrale performance. Het Rotterdamse gezelschap slepen je mee in atmosferen vol spanning. Met theatrale gebaren, griezelige vocale harmonieën, vrije improvisatie, effecten, toonreeksen en dierengeluiden. Ze roepen thema’s op zoals liefde, lotsbestemming, tijd, natuur en surrealisme. Dit is allemaal verpakt in een absurd verhaal dat uiteindelijk in zijn eigen staart bijt.

Cengiz Arslanpay
Cengiz Arslanpay is een veelzijdig muzikant en verzamelaar van geluiden. Zijn werk kenmerkt zich door het verrassende gebruik van traditionele instrumenten, modulaire synthesizers en alledaagse voorwerpen die onverwachte en intrigerende klanken produceren. Hij beweegt zich moeiteloos tussen verschillende culturele contexten en benadert zijn praktijk als een muzikale nomade, met een tas vol fluiten en een breed palet aan klanktexturen. Deze invloeden vormt hij om tot muziek die wordt gepresenteerd in tijdloze, plaats-onafhankelijke performances.
