SOLIDARITY SCREENING: DOCUMENTARIES FROM UKRAINE

SOLIDARITY SCREENING: DOCUMENTARIES FROM UKRAINE BY OLEKSIY RADYNSKI AND PIOTR ARMIANOVSKI
FIlm - Sun 20 March 2022
WORM Rotterdam
WORM Central Station
Start → 20:30
End → 23:30

WORM will host a screening organized by WET Film of three short documentary films by Ukrainian filmmakers Piotr Armianovski and Oleksiy Radynski. Proceeds from the screening will go to support Atelienormalno, an organisation in Kyiv which looks after 120+ patients of a psychiatric hospital, and organises workshops for artists with Down syndrome.

With a highly personal and intimate documentary approach, these three films depict characters, communities and landscapes in Ukraine, creating a bridge between the everyday and a broader political situation. Taking place in Kyiv and Donbas, they show individuals and groups caught up in bureaucracy, war and community; producing complex and subjective portraits of these places.

The films remind us of the importance of documentary filmmaking in times of crisis and the necessity to make visible and keep traces as acts of resistance.

If you cannot attend the screening, but still want to support the fundraiser, you can make a direct donation via this link (we will gather payments and send them as one transfer):https://www.ing.nl/particulier/betaalverzoek/index.html?trxid=oZcgbyQNmRwclTJfv84eY4aSX2sRtIJY
