SAMODIVA IV: INFINITY FLOWER blooms as the fourth chapter in a series of unique events crafted by the multidisciplinary collective, led by Magdalena Petrova & Lui Surreal.
Since its conception in early Spring 2023, SAMODIVA has been carving its path through Rotterdam’s cultural landscape, hosting events at venues such as POING, pop-up at Garage Rotterdam and collaborating with artists like Viana Afoumou at Roodkapje. With a focus on multidisciplinary exploration, the collective is devoted to blending live music acts, performance art, DJ sets, and scenography.

SPECIAL GUEST
In this edition, the collective takes a new approach where Magdalena and Lui experiment with independent curations. INFINITY FLOWER is curated by Lui Surreal and marks SAMODIVA’s first event in a concert format.
Lui has invited LA based artist Demi Yo’ko to make a stop in Rotterdam on their SCREAMING euro-tour.
An enchanting new universe, which Demi dubs as “PSYCHEDELIC HORROR” or “WHIMSICAL TERROR”, is entrancing the minds of a world in decline. Within their sonic world, they boldly explore alternative, funk, post-punk, indie, and industrial elements while maintaining a pop-centric core. Distorted and glittered with psychedelia and euphoria, DEMI is forging a multidisciplinary form of artistic expression centred around music. This captivating realm pairs mesmerising visuals with a “feel-good, feel-bad” paradox that delves into introspective horrors.
Joining the lineup amongst Demi Yo’ko are:
The Netherlands-based Afro-Colombian artist, navxja. Making her debut performance in the Netherlands. navxja’s artistry thrives on collaboration and experimentation, promising a performance that crosses thresholds and ignites the senses.
Lui Surreal and his newly formed band THE GATEKEEPERS take the stage in Rotterdam for the first time. The band was formed as an extension of the live act in early 2024. With a sound and ethos departing from punk, they hybridise elements of post-punk, hardcore, indie, alternative rap and metal. The band consists of J.Carmi, Joris, Bobby Boycott & Loveth Besamoh.
The opening and closing of the evening will be handled by SAMODIVA residents PL3TH0RA and VSCO, respectively. Expect a fire starter set from PL3TH0RA and a trash magic hybrid set from VSCO at the end.
