Playing for Turkey

Dear friends, the Playing for Turkey fundraiser livestream is a go!

We will launch the streams together with the Bandcamp compilation from WORM Rotterdam this Friday (13/8)! You can tune in to the stream of your choice via Vimeo or Radio Rietveld and enjoy our diverse programme.

We’ll announce the lineup and artists for the Bandcamp compilation on Wednesday (11th), and the links will be shared through @playingforturkey and @radiorietveld on Instagram.

A donation is simply made via the ‘donate’ button during the stream on Vimeo or https://www.paypal.me/playingforturkey. It’s also possible to support us by buying music or merchandise from the Bandcamp page.

All donations will go directly towards wildfire relief and recovery efforts made by @AHBAP, a charity founded by Turkish musician Haluk Levent. It’s a well known and trusted charity which monitors the impact on affected communities to allocate funds to where they’re needed most.

To be more specific:

* they provide firefighters with needed equipment such as fire extinguishers, fireproof shoes and overalls;

* they bring food, clean water and medical supplies for the local farmers and animals in impacted areas;

* they rented a fire brigade helicopter from France which is helping the firefighters in Marmaris as we speak.

We’ve done our very best to set this up, now it’s up to you to make it work. Since €1 and $1 is worth almost 10 TRY at the moment, even the smallest amount gained through this initiative has so much impact.
