Party Party - Free Workshop Series

welcome to party party – a playful political experiment by bolotsa, an artist collective comprising four friends passionate about community organising. through a series of three participatory workshops, bolotsa will establish a fictitious political party inspired by the figure of the child: free, unafraid of cringe, and full of rebellious curiosity. party party is an invitation to play politics differently – to connect, disrupt and reimagine what a political movement can be.

in the workshops, we will explore how to play politics in a childish way. as fascist ideologies gain ground, we believe it is urgent to develop new forms of collective action. our goal is to unlearn the fear of engaging in politics, playing with and within the city, talking to neighbors and strangers, transgressing the norm.

– in the first workshop, we will work with participants to create their own speculative political personae — complete with costume, makeup, and character development. embracing freaks, hybrids, and monsters as tools of resistance, we ask: what alternative bodies and narratives can enter the political space?
date & time: 13 nov ~ 18:30 – 21:30 ~ WORM Slash

– in the second workshop, our political personas will gather for the first congress of a newly established party party. with the aim of establishing the political program of our party that all of the participants will be excited about we will engage in the art of collective decision-making. we ask: how to stay loyal to your values while respecting and acknowledging the beauty of diversity, as well as the ability and potential for change?
date & time: 18 nov ~ 18:30 – 21:30 ~ WORM UBIK

– in the final workshop, party party is going to the streets. activism on the streets has two big aims – to show who we are and to mobilize others. we think both of these should be performed with pleasure and without fear. we claim: we have the right to the city – to act, to speak, to adjust in and on public space. to enjoy something, we need to practice – that is what this workshop is for. we will practice cringe, dialogue and we will do it together.
date & time: 21 nov ~ 15:00 – 19:00 Precious UBIK

🐙 three workshops will happen in WORM, rotterdam, during november. each meeting will be about 3-4 hours, and the last session will involve a collective action on the streets of rotterdam: so please keep it in mind and think about your willingness and capacity to participate in it:) we will try our best to make it as safe and fun, as possible

🪩 please fill in THIS FORM, if you want to join us in our little mischief – so we can know each other a little bit more!

about bolotsa
our artist collective is called “bolotsa” and consists of four members all residing in the netherlands – sonya, egor, tonya and sëma. bolotsa are many different things:
– a group of friends that emigrated to live on a former swamp (“bolotsa” in russian language)
– a tender polycule that likes to queer and reflect its own borders, along with definitions of friendship, family and care
– a playful rebellious art group with research backgrounds and big passion for community organizing
– a discourse that aims to overcome and demolish the separation between everyday life and art practices
– a circle with a big lore, projects, adventures, vocabulary, games, locations and histories of love

bolotsa members have diverse research backgrounds that intersect in various ways: photography, critical theory, cultural studies, economics, and philosophy. what unites us – besides love, is our drive to share knowledge and invent new ways of relating to each other and the city. that’s why community building and facilitation are the primary focus of bolotsa. we have curated power point parties, a choir, reading groups, affective urban strolls, and adult camps, as well as artists foundation.

party party is part of WORM x Amarte 2025 collaboration in the context of which four collectives were invited to create a new workshop series. learn more here.
