O. x WORM – O. Lab: Lokroep
In WORM wordt zeven dagen lang gewerkt door de makers van morgen. En, de deuren van de werkplaats staan wagenwijd open. Loop naar binnen en laat je verbeelding de vrije loop. Want: niets is kant en klaar. Alles is een work in progress. O. Lab is één grote creative space waar makers actuele onderwerpen oppakken en nieuw werkt ontstaat. Of mislukt, dat kan én mag ook in een lab. Tijdens O. Lab delen makers hun ideeën en bevindingen als eerste met jou. Zit op de eerste rij van het maakproces!

Tomorrow’s makers will work in WORM for seven days and the doors of the workshop will be wide open. Go inside and give free rein to your imagination. After all, nothing is ready-made; everything is a work in progress. O. Lab is a large creative space where makers can focus on current topics and new work is created. Or not, as the case may be, which is equally possible and acceptable in a lab. As long as O. Lab is operational, you will be the first to share the ideas and findings of the makers. Take a seat on the front row and watch the unfolding of the creation process!

LOKROEP richt zich op de complexiteit van de intermenselijke verhoudingen en de voedingsbodem die (macht)structuren kunnen bieden waardoor intermenselijke relaties zich op een positieve manier kunnen ontwikkelen, maar ook – zoals de #MeToo beweging heeft aangetoond – kunnen verworden en kunnen leiden tot machtsmisbruik en onaanvaardbaar seksueel gedrag. Het stuk zal bestaan uit vijf verschillende #MeToo situaties, geschreven door drie verschillende jonge schrijvers. De situaties hebben alle een andere aard en karakter qua machtsverhouding en affectie, en kennen daarnaast een ander verloop en een andere uitkomst. De concertante lezing is onderdeel van het ontwikkelproces dat zal resulteren in een volwaardige muziektheatervoorstelling.

Lokroep focuses on the complexity of interpersonal relationships and the breeding ground offered by (power) structures. Sometimes in a way that allows interpersonal relationships to flourish. Alternatively – as the #MeToo movement has shown – they can degenerate, leading to an abuse of power and unacceptable sexual conduct. The performance will comprise five different #MeToo situations, written by three young authors. All the scenes differ in terms of the balance of power and degree of affection. They unfold in dissimilar ways, take unexpected courses, and there will be different outcomes. The concert reading is part of a development process that will result in a fully-fledged music theatre performance.

Doorlopend filmprogramma met short movies, docu’s, videoclips en online projecten. Veel up and coming makers, online performances en lockdown-experimenten. Afgelopen jaar creëerden kunstenaars meer dan ooit, online. O. maakte een selectie van de vele gedaantes die opera online aannam én de inbox van het festival bereikten. Daarnaast doken we in de O.(peradagen) archieven om ouder, maar even actueel cross-mediaal videomateriaal te kiezen.

Continuous programme encompassing wide-ranging works from across the world in Corona times. Numerous up-and-coming makers, online performances, and lockdown experiments. Artists have created more online content than ever before last year. O. selected a sample from the many guises in which opera appeared online and that reached the festival’s inbox. In addition, we delved into the archives of O.(peradagen) to find older video material that was equally topical in a cross-media sense.
