Noodlebar is a collective that programs, promotes and organizes workshops and live shows with (mostly modular) electronics since 2012. Their first events were at Bar (which nowadays is an Asian noodlebar). Noodlebar hosted stages at various events and festivals and landed a long time ago at WORM where it continues its series now, full steam!
This is the third edition of 2024. More than before, Noodlebar focuses on quality sounds. There is always an instrument-building workshop in the early afternoon in the WORM office, this time led by Gijs Gieskes (more info coming soon)!
Performances:
– Katja Molenkamp (Serge fanatic!)
– Lieuwe Zelle (Eclectic sound artist)
– Gijs Gieskes (Genious Inventor of Instruments)
– Anne Wellmer (Queen of the ARP 2600)
and…
… a special appearance by Baseck who will let his freak flag fly!!
Katja Molenkamp
Katja Molenkamp’s practice materializes in the form of an ongoing sonic adventure, seeking sounds never heard, yet resonating deeply with those who listen. Her music is meant to be felt as much as heard, and is meant to move her listeners, guiding them through deep immersive soundscapes. Her music takes the form of a living conversation between herself and her instrument, attempting to seek resonances between the mechanical nature of her modular synthesizer and the more organic nature of her contralto voice.
Baseck
Baseck is a Los Angeles-based experimental electronic musician. His roots run deep in L.A.’s underground rave scene since the mid 90s. It is a great honour to have this iconic artist at Noodlebar! He is a true legend, he is respected and feared by all those unlucky enough to have to share a stage with this man. Baseck doesn’t just play a set. He sucks you in, spits you out and leaves you begging for more. Whether it’s on his drum machines, game boys, modular synths or through his unearthly turntablism skills… With Baseck, there’s no telling what will happen. Don’t miss it or you will regret it forever.
Lieuwe Zelle
Formerly Lieuwe Zelle of all kinds, Drummer, Radio maker, photographer and film/video but now Mr.Queen Diva Two spirit. And let’s not forget his electronic identity which will unfold tonight.
Anne Wellmer
Anne Wellmer is a composer, performer and media artist based in The Hague. Wellmer uses field recordings, live sound processing and electronically generated sound in her work, which shifts between tape music, improvisation, installation and performance. Feedback, electromagnetic disturbances and barely audible acoustic phenomena make out essential aspects of her work. In 2007 she received an honoray mention in digital musics from the Prix Ars Electronica in Linz.
