What is the significance of music for cities? How could music solve problems that have nothing to do with music? And in what ways can the industry bounce back in a post-COVID era? In collaboration with WORM we invite Shain Shapiro for a live interview on Music Cities. Shapiro is founder of Sound Diplomacy, a leading global advisor on growing music and night time economies in cities and places, based in London. We will discuss the importance of music ecosystems for communities, how to formulate a viable urban music strategy, and what music-based policies can contribute to the U.N.’s Social Development Goals. Join us!

Shain Shapiro is the Founder and Group CEO of Sound Diplomacy. He has defined a new way to think about the value of music in cities and places and through it, influenced over 100 cities and places to invest in music and culture as part of overall growth strategy. He is also the co-founder of Music Cities Convention, the world’s largest event bringing together the music industry with city planners, developers, policy makers and executives, the Music Cities Community, the leading online platform for music and public policy to intersect and the Music Cities Awards. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of the not-for-profit global Center for Music Ecosystems, launching in 2021.
