Filmwerkplaats is WORM’s own artist-run film lab and operates from the basement with a well equipped workspace dedicated to DIY analogue (celluloid) film practice. Part of a larger network of artist-run film labs worldwide. The lab runs as an association with more than 70 artists members.
This summer the Filmwerkplaats opened up her lab for local member residencies within the framework of the SPECTRAL project. The outcome of each residency had to be the creation of a performative analog motion picture piece. All was allowed as long as the main research was analogue, i.e. photochemistry, image making and/or optical (light image) sound.
12 new “Expanded Cinema” works are created in this context and will have it first prove in UBIK this fall. During several Sunday matinee work-in-progress presentations we invite you to our performative playground. Free entrance
