Filmtuin: The Sweet East

Every Thursday evening in June 2026, and the first Thursday of July, the hidden garden Eendrachtstuin transforms into Filmtuin, our beloved yearly open-air cinema. From sundown, we’ll screen a mix of arthouse films, handpicked by neighbours and WORM’s film team.

A picaresque journey through the cities and woods of the Eastern seaboard of the U.S undertaken by Lillian, a high school senior from South Carolina. After a class trip goes wrong, she gets her first glimpse of the wider world. The film paints a picture of (contemporary) America as well of girlhood, as the main character embarks on an Odyssey that becomes her right of passage.

The screening is programmed by Eleni Hamhougia, current film-programming intern at WORM.
