With a combination of archival materials and interviews, Little Richard: I Am Everything brings Richard Penniman to life- a Black queer icon and the (hidden) godfather of rock n’ roll. The documentary unravels Richard’s unapologetic creative process and his powerful impact to society at the time, as well as the contemporary music industry.

This screening is curated by WORM’s film programmer, film-maker Tim Leyendekker. With his own work often touching upon the LGBTQI+ community and the queer experience overall, this film selection makes no exception- while paying homage to a queer icon of the 20th century, it beautifully recounts the struggles as well as the victories of the LGBTQI+ community across decades.
