by Faraz Fesharaki, 81 min, webcam and VHS recordings transferred to digital, Germany / Iran, 2024, Farsi with English subtitles
Composed of over a decade of family video calls, the film witnesses the togetherness of the director and his parents. Scattered between Berlin and Isfahan, they open up about their past, everyday life, ambitions and fears, engaging in difficult conversations while expressing deep care for one another. Through these intimate exchanges, the film subtly tracks inherited traumas passed from Fesharaki’s parents, the generation shaped by the 1979 Islamic Revolution, to the director, revealing the lasting impact of political violence across generations.
