Welcome to: Eat Your Feelings CINEMA, an event series that brings together film screenings, eating, art, and music to inspire conversations that extend food outside its domestic context.
A cinematic continuation of joined adventure Eat Your Feelings Radio the screenings introduce a diverse movie selection it places emphasis on provocative subjects accompanied by themed snacks, consumed at specific moments. The screenings open with an introductory talk and eating instructions, followed by an informal Q&A around drinks, and sharing stories, accompanied by a tailored DJ set by a local musician, symbolically linked to the projection.

A girl on the verge of womanhood finds herself in a sensual fantasyland of vampires, religion, witchcraft, and other threats from an eerie and mystical daydream. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders serves up an endlessly looping, nonlinear fairy tale, set in a quasi-medieval landscape. Ravishingly shot, enchantingly scored, and spilling over with surreal fancies, this enticing phantasmagoria from director Jaromil Jireš is among the most beautiful oddities of the Czechoslovak New Wave.

Als cinematografische voortzetting van het gezamenlijke avontuur Eat Your Feelings Radio introduceren de screenings een gevarieerde filmselectie die de nadruk legt op provocerende onderwerpen, vergezeld van thematische snacks die op specifieke momenten worden genuttigd. Valerie and Her Week of Wonders is een eindeloos lopend, niet-lineair sprookje in een quasi-middeleeuws landschap. Deze verleidelijke fantasmagorie van regisseur Jaromil Jireš is prachtig gefilmd, heeft een betoverende score en zit boordevol surrealistische fantasieën. Hij behoort tot de mooiste rariteiten van de Tsjechoslowaakse New Wave.
