Welcome to Eat Your Feelings CINEMA, an event series that brings together film screenings, eating, art, and music to inspire conversations that extend food outside its domestic context. A cinematic continuation of joined adventure Eat Your Feelings Radio, the screenings introduce a diverse movie selection. It emphasises provocative subjects accompanied by themed snacks, consumed at specific moments. The screenings open with an introductory talk and eating instructions, followed by an informal Q&A around drinks, and sharing stories, accompanied by a tailored DJ set by a local musician, symbolically linked to the projection.

Two men participate in a scientific experiment – one for profit, the other for science. They are to be frozen for 3 years, but they awake half a century later, in a world where men are entirely extinct as the result of war. As relics of the past, they become extraordinary subjects for study, but their charm begins to remind women of what they lost. Together we follow their clumsy adventures in the newfound matriarchy and beyond, in their attempt to do justice to their species.
Juliusz Machulski’s cult comedy, still a blockbuster of Polish cinema is not only a pastiche of the sci-fi genre but also a metaphor for a totalitarian regime, a satire on the reality of martial law in Poland.

Als filmische voortzetting van het gezamenlijke avontuur Eat Your Feelings Radio introduceren de screenings een gevarieerde filmselectie. De nadruk ligt op provocerende onderwerpen, vergezeld van thematische snacks die op specifieke momenten worden genuttigd. De vertoningen openen met een inleidend gesprek en eetinstructies, gevolgd door een informele Q&A met een drankjes en het delen van verhalen, begeleid door een op maat gemaakte DJ-set van een lokale muzikant.

Synopsis
Twee mannen nemen deel aan een wetenschappelijk experiment – de ene voor de winst, de andere voor de wetenschap. Ze worden voor 3 jaar ingevroren, maar worden een halve eeuw later wakker, in een wereld waar de mens volledig is uitgestorven als gevolg van een oorlog. Als overblijfselen uit het verleden worden ze bijzondere studieobjecten, maar hun charme begint de vrouwen te herinneren aan wat ze verloren hebben. Volg hun onhandige avonturen in het nieuwe matriarchaat en daarbuiten, in hun poging recht te doen aan hun soort.
Juliusz Machulski’s cultkomedie, nog steeds een kaskraker van de Poolse cinema, is niet alleen een pastiche van het sci-fi genre maar ook een metafoor voor een totalitair regime, een satire op de realiteit van de staat van beleg in Polen.
