Small-time drug dealer Pablo and his sister Apolline are bracing themselves for the shut down of their favourite video game, Darknoon. However, when Pablo meets and falls for Night, the siblings’ relationship undergoes a crisis and so does their common screen time. Virtual reality merges with the characters’ physical reality as matters of the body become more and more central- learning how to be intimate, navigating sobriety and intoxication both literally and metaphorically. As Pablo gets involved in a gang fight and violence escalates, the shutdown of Darknoon becomes a rite of passage for both siblings.

Eat The Night is a work by Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel, a French film-making duo, and it was nominated for Queer Palm in 2024. The electronic beats of the soundtrack by Ssaliva pace the tension of the film, giving it a distinct sonic character.
