“I am a voice from the past, standing in the future, forever haunt you”
Ancient Futures Club explores the conflation of local and global, from the perspective of club music. AFC traces a connection between folk dances as rituals to endure the present and the origin of club music, raves and, more specifically, techno as rooted in a collective struggle.
With Davide Ghelli Santulia, Kivanc, and more TBA
Davide Ghelli Santuliana (aka KTONIOS) is a Rotterdam-based Italian artist whose first season on Radio WORM, ACID SUN, is now followed by a show called Sonic Diaries. In his shows he presents selections relating to specific themes, e.g. Hauntology or the history of Detroit Techno – approaching music through a critical philosophical lens. Davide also produces mesmerising modular synth work that draws on southern Italian traditions of folk music in a way that defies revivalism, instead transforming passed-down rhythms into something completely contemporary.
He works with improvisation using modular synthesizers and Max/MSP patches, employing a DIY approach. He crafts live sets that combine elements of minimalism, techno, ambient, folk, noise, glitch and sample based music.
Kıvanç (they/them) is a Rotterdam-based artist from Ankara, working across art, design, and sound. Their practice moves through play, improvisation, and everyday tools, treating these not just as mediums but as methods of inquiry.
