Contact Zone invites you to explore your connection with yourself, other people and your environment through our facilitated contact improvisation jams. Feel your body in movement, find the details, play with gravity, weight, flow, with surprises, discoveries, delight.

Contact improvisation is a form of improvised partner dancing that explores one’s body in relationship to others through shared weight, touch, and movement awareness. In a jam format participants practice this form freely together. No experience is needed, everyone is welcome, whether beginner, advanced or something in between.
Feel free to ask questions about the practice to the jam facilitator or the other participants.

Please bring comfortable clothes to move in. It works best if you choose flexible clothing that is soft, without buttons and zippers, stays in place and covers you sufficiently. We dance without shoes.

Some wear soft dancing shoes or knee pads.
We invite everyone to express their own and respect each other’s boundaries throughout the session. You can always choose to engage or take a break, invite someone to move together or say no.
