Cinema Colombiano x Crema - night programme!

Cinema Colombiano is celebrating their 10th anniversary, and after an awesome day of films it’s time for a big closure with music. They’re collaborating with CREMA, a club program initiated by El Javier_B (resident Dj at Worm and Operator radio) organizing dance parties in the city. CREMA has a clear mission: to showcase mind bending Afro-Caribbean tunes from past and future. And for this special occasion no less than 5 DJ’s have been invited to close down the festival… but not before a powerful live performance by La Ruka at 22:00!

La Ruka is an artist who has the jungle running through her veins. She is from the Colombian Pacific coast, from Buenaventura. Her live show brings together marimba de chonta and bass to create a fusion of urban music with salsa choque and folklore. La Ruka honors the name of a community that dances to the sound of its history, powerful for its commitment to its art, its land, its people, its women, and its flavor. She just released an EP on vinyl at the respected Galletas Calientes-label, including an addictive salsa choke-song!

Following La Ruka, the following DJ’s will keep you dancing till 4am in the morning:

Calamidades Lola
A record hunter, DJ/selector and radio host born and raised in Barranquilla, a city on the Caribbean coast of Colombia with a powerful culture of celebration and where music is a sure path to joy and liberation. She currently lives in Berlin, and much of her sound that she shares is influenced by her musical roots and her migratory experience.

Veinte Uñas
20 Uñas is the Alter Ego of Sandra Zegarra Patow, a Peruvian-born, Rotterdam-raised interdisciplinary artist. Her sets are emotional collages blending psychedelic cumbia, reggaetón, baile funk, guaracha, perreo underground, dembow and experimental beats. Through music, she continues to explore who she is, while creating space for the Latinx diaspora to feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

Rotational
Archivist & DJ focussing on electronic dance music from South-America, Africa, and Asia. Dance to the sound of Digitized Kuduro CD’s or Baile Funk found on a USB-stick from Rio, Moroccan Techno from dusty cassette tapes, or hot Puerto Rican Reggaeton.
Besides DJ’ing, Rotational (Karim) also runs a YouTube channel filled with musical finds from all around the world. Dive into a global soundscape by visiting: youtube.com/@rotational_

Alex Figueira
Venezuelan-Portuguese musician, producer, DJ and record collector currently based in Brussels, aka ‘the hardest working man in Tropical music’. Traveling around the globe for the past 15 years, he’s built one of the most world-renowned record collections in the realm of Tropical music, which he showcases on all his DJ sets. You will hear music you didn’t know existed. Music you didn’t know could make you dance like nobody’s watching. You will be left in awe, with a refreshed and renewed sense of what “dance music” is supposed to mean.

El Javier_B
After years of experimenting with his band Lola’s Dice (NYCT, Music with Soul and Bongo Joe), along with a passion for collecting vinyl, he embarked on an extensive journey to explore rhythms and sounds from around the globe. Hailing from Maracaibo, Venezuela, his spirit is deeply connected to the vibrant tropical beats of the Caribbean and the enchanting sounds of Africa. Currently. A creative force dedicated to crafting eclectic mixes that ignite energy and groove on the dance floor.
