Central Disko #2

The 2nd party evening of Central Disko at #Wunderbar in WORM!

Central Disko is a club/radio night at WORM that challenges DJs to bring sets that are close to their hearts, that maybe they’re not best known for. While the approach is not strict on genre, disco remains at the centre while all styles and flows proceed out into the world.

This edition will start a bit earlier at 18:00 and the kitchen of the #Wunderbar will be open for meals till 22:00.

The kitchen and videos for this night will have a slight Japanese theme:

Japan has always been very influential for the music/dance scene. Because of the development of (micro) chips a lot of other computer equipment was developed here like synthesizers and drum machines. At some point in the 80s and 90s Japanese companies dominated the market. Besides this fact, culturally and culinary, Japan has always been a large influence. This is why the dish of the day will be a delicious Japanese Curry, a vegan variant!

Come early and enjoy some food, drinks and dance… the event is free.

Psyched Out
From Psychedelic Peruvian Chicha to Moroccan Garage Funk and on to African Lo-Fi Boogie and Cantonese Funk Pop. Psyched Out consists of two fanatic diggers with a worldwide taste!

Played at the first Central Disko at Radio Worm and will surprise us with a nice bunch of music as much now as then!

Krismika
Programming, organising, researching and dj’ing; Krismika likes to be involved both on and off stage of Rotterdam’s nightlife. She organises events for Weelde and is part of Operator Radio’s programming team. Her sound is heavily influenced by the months she spent in Prague last year. She saw here that the sound of Prague’s nightlife was a lot darker and gloomier than what she knew from Rotterdam. This was exactly what she was longing for after Covid, thus she translated this into Spleen; a series of nights at Weelde that can be seen as an ode to the night and its obscurities. As a dj her sound yields a broad selection of tunes within the genres of electro, new beat, ebm, wave and italo. A dark combination destined to get (and keep) you dancing.

Dagobah Soundsystem
Mostly vinyl eclectic (Italo)disco, House, Techno weirdness. With sydney also known as Syd2000, Freek, Niels and Marcus. They promise to be an exciting spectacle and bring a lot of nice Italo/Disco records!

**Princess-K **
Princess-K has been surrounded by music for quite some time and decided to start playing a few years ago back. As an integral part of the WORM family, he hosts the "Central Disko" event series and radio show. He is a close collaborator of FEM and holds a residency at the HDE (His Dark Elements) collective.
He plays a mixture of a lot of genres, but mostly on the electronic spectrum. From dark and wave to more uplifting electro and breakbeats and italo-disco. He As long as it has a good flow and a nice baseline. Dancing is an unavoidable consequence!
