Being State Of Mind – Open!
In eerste instantie had WORM een feestelijke opening in gedachten voor dit Rotterdamse collectief; State of Mind. State of Mind zijn drie ervaren artiesten die hun ego’s buiten de deur van de S/ash Gallery hebben gelaten om samen als één te maken. Tijdens hun residentie heeft het drietal de hele ruimte overgenomen; gigantische muurschilderingen en ruimtelijke werken hebben zich als een creatief mycelium uit al bestaande materialen gevormd. Vanuit de zijlijn een intrigerend schouwspel.
Met de versoepelingen van enkele coronamaatregelen zijn we dan ook ontzettend verheugd om vanaf vandaag dit werk te mogen aan je te mogen presenteren!

State of Mind
Het driekoppige wezen focust zich op experimenteren en collectief schilderwerk. De onverwachte avonturen, visuele dialogen en confronterende sensaties doen het drietal voortbewegen. Gedeelde kennis en instrumenten smelten samen tot een gelaagde orkestrale compositie, dat een ongebruikelijke mix aan esthetiek creëert. Alle werken en keuzes die erachter zitten zijn gemaakt als collectief. Wat kan een gedeelde creativiteit bereiken wanneer zes handen, zes ogen en drie breinen hun krachten bundelen? En wie zijn de artiesten achter het collectief? Kom langs om het mee te maken.

Initially, WORM wanted to kick off 2022 with a celebratory opening, debuting the work of the Rotterdam-based collective, State of Mind! State of Mind are three accomplished artists who left their egos at the doors of S/ash Gallery to create together as one. During their residency, the three have taken over the whole gallery space. Wall paintings and spatial pieces have formed, like a creative mycelium, from existing work. It’s been intriguing to watch from the sidelines!
And now, with the lifting of some Corona restrictions, we are delighted to present this work to you.

State of Mind
The three-headed being focuses on experimentation and collective painting. The unexpected adventures, visual dialogues and confronting sensations excite the three-headed body. Shared knowledge and instruments blend into a layered orchestral composition, causing an unusual set of aesthetics. All works are made as a collective and choices are made by the group.
