Baroeg On Tour @ WORM: A Place in Practice

Baroeg: Past, Present, and Future

The iconic Baroeg building has now been demolished — but a new chapter is rising. The rebuilt venue is set to open in early 2026, ushering in a fresh era. Meanwhile, Baroeg goes On Tour, following the footsteps of WORM’s nomadic adventure 12.5 years ago.

As part of the evening at WORM, verwacht: twee keiharde bands + boekpresentatie + mini-expo met archiefmateriaal + Q&A.

Q&A: Celebrating 30+ Years of Baroeg & Rotterdam’s DIY Scene
Host: Deef de Kanarie
Guests: Leo X-treem (X-treem DIY Fanzine/Baroegarchive), Francis Pronk (Author, Baroegboek), Jessica (Author, Popunie Boek), Stefan (Stardumb Records), Richard Foster (The Quietus)

In 2025, Leo X-treem celebrates 30 years of volunteering at the legendary Baroeg — the beating heart of Rotterdam’s alternative and underground culture. Since 1988, Leo has also run X-treem, a DIY paper zine and grassroots organization that helped kickstart the Baroegbook and this fourth special event. As guardian of the Baroegarchive, Leo has preserved countless flyers, posters, zines, and memorabilia — with issue #36 just released!

This Q&A dives deep into Rotterdam’s DIY scene, the making of the Baroegboek, and the underground legacy that shaped generations. Joining the talk are key voices who’ve documented and supported the scene in print, sound, and spirit.

Exhibition Highlights
In connection with the Q&A, a special exposition showcases rare and original underground treasures: Iconic banners, including one from Pierre (WORM/Dodorama founder), The legendary Flyerbike, Real stones from the demolished Baroeg building, Powerful photography by Carla van der Marel and Andre GWMP, Original X-treem pages and the latest zine issues, A curated selection of Rotterdam underground books.

Artrodese (NL oldskool drum-‘n-bass)
Joop van Reede started making music in the late ’80s and later played worldwide with grindcore bands like Jesus Cröst and Sick of Stupidity. After multiple surgeries left him unable to play instruments, he found a new outlet in electronic music in 2022. Under the name Artrodese, he creates raw old-school drum & bass using just a laptop and midi keyboard. His first EP, Slave to the System, was released in 2024 via Bones Brigade Records. The new album, TILT, was released on March 20, 2025, on vinyl and tape through various labels in Europe, the US, and Indonesia.
