25 years of Filmwerkplaats

Filmwerkplaats is an artist-run film collective dedicated to DIY analog practice, experiments and debates around filmic creation. Filmwerkplaats is turning 25 years old. We want to celebrate this milestone through a full-day program that acknowledges Filmwerkplaats’s collective effort and varied artistic expressions.

This program will take place at WORM Rotterdam (as IFFR partner) on Tuesday 3th of February 2026 and will consist of four parts:
H. 14:00-15:00 – a performative panel talk around the pillars of Filmwerkplaats; the facilities, knowledge sharing, individual practice, global filmlabs network, the collective
H. 15:30-16.45 – film programs of short films from past and current members;
H. 17.:30-18.45 – film programs of short films from past and current members;
H. 20:00-21:30 – a performance program featuring expanded cinema
