Geel en Zwart door Guido Spring

Deze kleuren, die kunnen staan voor ‘wind’ en ‘lava’, domineren Reykjavik en staan symbool voor de stad. Het pas gesmolten zeewier knerpt, de vlaggenmasten kletteren en mengen met de klanken van piepende loopplanken in de vissershaven en gakkende ganzen. Op een zwart strand geven vogels een ongelooflijk concert.  En blinden zetten in Reykjavik ‘binaural’ opgenomen geluiden in om nieuwe routes te leren kennen. Dichter Laura Broekhuysen woont in Reykjavik en draagt twee gedichten voor in het portret.

These colours, which can represent “wind” and “lava,” dominate Reykjavik and symbolise the city. The newly melted seaweed crunches, flagpoles clatter and mix with the sounds of gawking geese and squeaking gang-planking in the fishing harbour. On a black beach, the birds give an incredible concert. Blind people use “binaurally” recorded sounds in Reykjavik to learn new routes to get around. Poet Laura Broekhuysen lives in Reykjavik and recites two poems in the portrait.
