Let us be thankful that they landed here!!
On top of all this, this evening also features the visual art and poetry of Vanita Monk (1944-2024).

PROGRAMME
A solo by Pierre Bastien
A power trio of Monk/Lumley/Rosaly (sax/clarinet, double bass, drums)
A thoughtful quartet/tutti of conducted improvisation, spoken word and visual art

Johanna Monk is a Canadian-Dutch multi-instrumentalist, literary writer and performance artist. Since the death in 2024 of her creative and life partner Vanita Monk, Johanna continues their 35-year artistic collaboration, staging multidisciplinary collaborative performances that include live improvised music, visual art, film, spoken-word performance and more. As a purely musical performer, Johanna combines the extended techniques of the avant-garde and the harsh brutality of pure sound with a melodic sensibility that betrays her roots in various folk musics.
https://www.monastery.nl/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrmB1XoIBtA

Pierre Bastien is a French musician, composer, and experimental musical instrument builder, working at the cross between music and visual art that blends live trumpet sounds with screen projections of on-site, mechanical sound sculptures in a very poetic way. His work is described as “a timeless sounding orchestra, both futuristic and slightly dada, conjuring ancient traditions in its surprisingly sensuous music” and as a “mad musical scientist with a celebrity following.”
https://www.pierrebastien.com/

Aaron Lumley is an exploratory Canadian contrabassist and improvising musician based in Amsterdam. Recognized for his raw, aggressive acoustic tone and forward-thinking avant-garde techniques, Lumley performs on a double bass tuned in fifths using a self-made bow. He established his presence across Toronto and Montreal’s vibrant improvisational scenes before relocating to the Netherlands. As both a soloist and key collaborator in various ensembles, his distinctive playing contrasts intense lyricism with brutal, boundary-pushing textures.
https://aaronlumley.bandcamp.com/

Frank Rosaly is a drummer, composer and sound designer living in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His musical approach stems from an exhaustive study of jazz, classical, improvisation, ritual and record collecting. For the last 20 years, these studies have been filtered through the prism of ritual and folklore of Latin America and the Caribbean, as he navigates his Puerto Rican roots. He considers his journey in sound as a student, his musical contributions as offerings.
https://frankrosaly.com/

Eendracht Festival 2026

16/07/2026 in Rotterdam. Blending elements like Afro-Psychedelica, Kraut-Rock, post-punk, and a heavy dose of shoegaze.

LOVETH BESAMOH
Loveth Besamoh summarises the creative trajectory of the eponymous band he founded as a "surrender to metamorphosis through music". The birthname given to the Cameroonian producer/multi-instrumentalist literally means ‘To Love / Speak Truth': as powerful a maxim as any when engaging in artistic endeavours.
The band Loveth Besamoh is a dynamic four-piece outfit that combines post-punk, folk, afro psychedelica, shoegaze, and kraut rock in unorthodox, firebrand fashion. Their latest EP Riverbed is the latest marker for the group’s rapidly evolving, collaborative sound.
Loveth (vocals, guitars, percussion), Do Milder (bass), Devon van Wijngaarden (guitar), and Iwan van der Keur (drums).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewLQUnYlMUg

THRILLED
Heavy Shoegaze anthems with interesting chord progressions and big dynamic shifts caused by ear-piercing fuzzes and huge drums are what Thrilled are all about. Thrilled are inspired by Shoegaze, but also Grunge, Emo, and many more genres. Having played at Left of the Dial and being the support act for RIDE on their Dutch stop of their EU tour, and Tramhaus, this young band are seen by many as the most promising new shoegaze band around. The loud and fuzzy cacophony of ’thrilled’ will give you all the goosebumps you need for the week.
For fans of: Slowdive, Fela Kuti, Trauma Ray, Kikagaku Moyo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXw5dh7vWS0

Crashing
Inspired by shoegaze and alt-rock giants like Dinosaur Jr. and My Bloody Valentine, Crashing indulges in noisy reverberated hooks, intense live performances, and raw unfiltered volume with a strong emphasis on DIY culture. Raumschmiere
T. Raumschmiere - aka Marco Haas - needs little introduction: but for those who need to know, he is one of the brains behind the Shitkatapult label and a fantastic live performer who flits between punk, electro, techno, noise, and pop like a card sharp shuffling a pack. This show will NOT be a normal Raumschmiere show but, as the title suggests, one anchored in ambient sounds. Expect the unexpected!

Raaf and Estroe
Both artists operate at the intersection of electronics, improvisation, and texture — each with their own signature, yet always in dialogue.
Raaf weaves rich melodies and sparkling arpeggios from his modular system. His sound is layered, organic, and infused with a cinematic sensitivity. Estroe, known for her subtle and atmospheric approach to electronic music, brings warmth, depth, and a keen ear for nuance. Live, her love for improvisation shines through: an intuitive play with sound, texture, and timing. Each performance is a carefully crafted whole, with room for surprise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYzBBZ1daek

KROON
Bass producers and live performers Hajo Krijger, Kubus and Kypski formed KROON in 2023. This trio of producers made a fierce and vast output of many sizzling and hard hitting bass tracks. In June 2025, the unthinkable happened: Hajo Krijger, musical mastermind and initiator of KROON, suddenly passed away, aged 29.
