Umeme Afrorave (live) + Mono-Bros

African tradition and tapes and vinyl only!
22:30
WORM

A cosmic fusion of African tradition, analogue sounds and electro hits the Avantgardistic State.

Umeme Afrorave
Umeme was founded by Daniele Labbate (synths and Bass) and Bas Bouma (drums); two friends who fell in love with analogue electronics and traditional African music. The duo found a way to fuse these contrasting musical traditions, employing subtle electro, house and techno accents along the way. Expect the shades of King Sunny Ade, Golden Teacher, Joe Zawinul, Mad Professor, African Head Charge, Konono N°1 and William Onyeabor to rise up from time to time. Yannick van ter Beek (percussion) adds the afro to the rave with his African rhythms as third member of Umeme.

MONO BROS is Luque & AN2. A DJ duo playing strictly vinyl & tapes because they like to keep it analogue in these digital times. Imagine “a DJ team from a far-off galaxy from a place where music and dancing are against all cosmic and computer laws.”
