We are bringing Mexico to Rotterdam with music, Mexican snacks, live interview with Gloria Virginia Davenport Fentanes, one of the most famous Trans activists in Mexico.

Gloria is the first transwoman in ‘The Mexican Women’s Parliament’ and President of the ‘Human Rights Commission’ and the ‘Women Journalist Protection Commission’. She has been fighting for the rights of trans people for many years. Manuel Ricardo Garcia, Trans activist from Munich, has met Gloria several times in recent years in Mexico City and invited her to WORM. In a live conversation with Gloria they will talk about the situation of trans people in Mexico, which has deteriorated significantly since the flight from Central and South America towards the United States. Also interesting are the survival and action strategies of the Mexican Trans community, from which we can learn a lot. Part of the talk will also be the parallels to trans activism in Europe and the question of how we can mutually support and network with each other.

Gloria’s perspective as a trans activist, politician and feminist in Mexico will provide a unique insight into the reality of this country. Then we would like to end the evening together with music and interesting discussions. We need your support!

Sponsored by Dona Daria/Unboxing Rotterdam.

¡Estamos trayendo México a Rotterdam!
