REIO – LAST REIO – Guest Gerri Jaeger

REIO (Rotterdam Electronic Improvised Orchestra) is an initiative founded by drummer Elvis Homan (Quartzite 4tet, oa). REIO started in October 2020, and is based around 8 Rotterdam-based, professional musicians.
REIO is a fully electronic ensemble, exploring the boundaries of Free Electronic Impro, sound manipulations and timbre, and indulging in spontaneous interactions and organic flowing crossovers with the use of electronic devices.

All parameters are open. REIO touch on elements of hardcore noise or conjure up industrial soundscapes. Think Jon Hassel at the Fillmore or Stockhausen, Supersilent. Every recording and every concert is a unique occasion, not to be repeated, and their music lives in a no-man’s-land between the genres, somewhere between rock, electronica, jazz and modern composition.
