Play Day n' Night #3

WORM presents: Play Day n’ Night
We’re launching a new cultural, cross-disciplinary program under the banner Play Day n’ Night: a space to nurture new ideas, grow unexpected collaborations, and breathe fresh energy into Rotterdam’s day-nightculture with cultural curiosity and transformation, with creativity and community.
For two weekends (40+ hours!), we’re throwing open the doors to UBIK, S/ash Gallery, and even spilling out onto the sidewalk.
Come join our summer community celebration, a vibrant mix of music, performance, exhibition, food, poetry, vinyl market.
📍 Boomgaardstraat 69 – tucked just behind the fashionable Witte de Withstraat, you can hide away from the mainstream and flow with us on the waves of alternative adventures. Let’s create a playground for all things offbeat and in-between.
The event is donation based, pay as much you can! We provide a bar with some icey drinks!

Who are the players? Of course YOU and the following creatives below:::

Ongoing exhibition @ S/ash Gallery, SEEN : a multidisciplinary group exhibition on identity, culture, and style.
Created by four friends based in Rotterdam working across various artistic disciplines including photography, illustration, animation, fashion, and design. What connects them is a shared exploration of identity and the intersection of street fashion and culture, recurring themes that are deeply rooted in their individual practices.

Luchandro Franca is a photographer with roots in Curaçao. His work navigates questions of belonging, identity, and cultural perception, shaped by his experiences growing up in Rotterdam South.
Victor Malave is a Venezuelan born visual storyteller. Who experiments with photography and video. Through bold colors and dynamic compositions.
Cheyenn Pinas founder of My Colorful Mess Studios and The Magnitude Platform, is a multidisciplinary designer whose vibrant and expressive work explores identity, connection, and culture transforming everyday stories into a space for reflection in a time of fleeting attention.
Vanessa Postma is an animator and illustrator working in both 2D and 3D. Influenced by hip-hop, cartoons, and her Surinamese heritage, she creates rich, energetic narratives that are playful yet deeply personal.

SEEN is more than just an exhibition, it’s a meeting point: between artists, audiences, and stories that deserve to be seen.

Today our doors are open for a vinyl market from a variety of genres based in rotterdam and local vinyl sellers We still have some open spots, feel free to reach out and join us! emaill: Julia@worm.org

"Ephemeris records brings a rough music collection of vinyl, cd’s, and cassettes for you. From Lollywood to Hollywood and from Tekno to Turkish Grooves. Sniff around in the bins between shameless bad Euro Dance hits or swoon away on sultry RnB. An abundance of records, cd’s, and cassettes from all over the world, genres, subgenres and no genres. Perhaps you will find the gems you have been looking for since a minute."

PRSPCT records “Making noise since 2002, this Rotterdam-based record label dominates the hard electronic scene, channeling the raw energy of the true underground.”

We bring poetry on the street at 19:30 by Kata Győrfi (1992, Bucharest, Romania) is a Transyvalnian-hungarian poet and playwright. Her recent poems depict a post-anthropocentric, post-apocalyptic nature-fantasy, her dramas are interested in loneliness and the rules of being among people.

We invite a performance at 20:00 "NSA — No Strings Attached" by Stefano Cattani & Gjorgji Despodov
In the space of the playground, where do you stand? When harmful echoes from a distant past kick in, you can stand only on one leg—one leg, one leg. No certain strings are holding you. How you get back to a solid position is a matter of strategy. Count: how many phases do you count? How many voices do you hear? Darling, you are the queer
failure. What’s next? Find the courage to turn—first left, then right. Remember, no strings attached.

Finish up your friday with "Bassline Resistance, presented by Black Soil & WORM. An evening exploring the deep impact of soundsystem culture, from its historical roots to its current-day relevance, through film, discussion, and music. Ending the program with a clubnight and afterparty in WORM Rotterdam. More info & tickets really soon!
