Museumnacht 010: WORM’s Love Offensive
WORM presents a physical manifestation of the Avantgardistic State; a physical and mental state of being where we offer alternatives and hangouts that offer a workable alternative to dominant cultural movements. From our homebase we clearly state, and distribute our mission, artistic practice, and legacy.
WORM’s Avantgardistic State is found in a building in the Boomgaardsstraat, a side street of the Witte de Withstraat in the centre of Rotterdam. We have access to a well supplied Eventstage, Filmhaus, Exhibition Space, Theatre Space, Performancebar, Pirate Bay Media Archive and #Wunderbar café. Here, we organise and host film screenings, talks, exhibitions, performances, theatre shows, concerts, club nights, debates, workshops, readings and much more. During Museumnacht 010 we will present you the following programme:
WORM Central Station: 20:00 – 23:45
During Museumnacht the Avantgardistic State will spread the word of love. Romantic poet and writer Simon Mulder will revive the feeling of bygone times.
Everywhere in Witte de Withkwartier: 21:00 – when Jeroen’s tired
Jeroen Kuster will take over the Witte de Withkwartier in this extra special edition of Eurosport.
WORM’s S/ASH GALLERY: 20:30 – 00:00
A wall, floor, and ceiling-filling installation and ongoing performance by Toine Klaassen.
Celebrate the party of the non-Gods, a feast for the bastard children. See the Champspain tree – because it’s only for the winners – and check out the quack beyond science. In the dark woods at the border of the Dionysian Avantgardistic state we praise the surrealistic world and rehearse for re-integration in paradise.
WORM’s Black Hole: 20:30 – 23:30
A new series of short performances by Pleun Gremmen and Kolijn Jagersma. Visual artist Pleun Gremmen (Piet Zwart Institute) and theatre maker Kolijn Jagersma (theatre school Rotterdam) decided on a collaboration that would break the borders of their art schools’ curricula: they are the Avantgardistic State’s Love Imams, welcoming you to their (temporary) holy mountain.
After a performative installation at WORM with New Years Eve, the Love Imams are back with REST. REST is a multidisciplinary installation where universal tendencies of escapism find expressions in commodified REST.
Do you ever wish you could just restart? That the pressure of the world is just too much to handle? What if you could reboot yourself? Everything is going to be okay, it’s going to be great. Believe us, you’ll feel great again. You need to stop worrying so much.
