Segadeath (Roffa) + Lotto (PL) + The Ills (SK)
Rotterdam’s Segadeath loves Godzilla and professes this love through the dark arts of synthesized music.
Often described as a post-rock band, Bratislava’s The Ills also draw on shoegaze and elements of math-rock and prog-rock to create their sound. Veterans of many a showcase festival, and a band that has toured extensively through Europe, The Ills can whip up a storm, courtesy of a deep reserve of know-how combine with an evergreen, punkish attitude. To date they have five LPs under their belt, including the critically acclaimed Splendor (2012) and Zoya (2014). 2016’s Ornamental or Mental was praised by the likes of KEXP, BBC Radio Scotland, WDR 1 Live, Drowned In Sound, IQ Magazine and many others. Their latest release, Disco Volante / Mt. Average is out on Deadred Records (Slovakia) / Starcastic Records (Czech Republic).
LOTTO are an instrumental trio who find themselves based between Warsaw and Berlin. This doesn’t stop them exploring the outer borders of jazz, country, noise, and minimal electronica. This is done by employing a series of well-crafted repetitive structures that serve as the base for improvisationary explorations, creating music that is both hypnotising and moving. Lotto have released three albums to date: Ask The Dust (2014), Elite Feline (2016) and VV (2017). VV scored number 12 (out of 100) on The Quietus‘s albums of the year, 2017.
