Electropoëzie (NL) + Stippenlift (NL)
A “Groningse” poetic mash-up in the Avantgardistic State!
Groningen is known for its crazy poets and outcasts whacking out weirdo wordlore. And Electropoëzie is the latest name in a glorious if sometimes obtuse tradition. The duo (tekst: Hans Hoeverloo and muziek: “De Ridderbaas”) released their debut LP, ‘Voor de Moord’ on Leiden’s “absurdiste”label Smikkelbaard earlier this year. It was described thus: “Sugar-coated synthpads and the brightest of rhythms are accompanied by the feverish, dreamlike rhymes of Hans Hoeverloo. This is the sound of 1980s space-dreams that ended up scattered on your millennial marble floor; the sound of a future that never arrived.”
Stippenlift is an alter ego of Hugo van de Poel. Just like Earth Mk. II and Eilandnet. He calls Stippenlift’s music d e p r i w a v e. That should cover it. Heavy lyrics about crying, headache and depression accompanied by electronic music without fuss. Following the release of the debut EP ‘Gemiste Kansen, Vol. 1’ in August 2016, Stippenlift took himself on the road to experience a new set of missed opportunities. Meanwhile, it’s time for the third in the series of Stippenlift’s “Missed Chances”. It is not surprising, therefore, that from now on ‘Gemiste Kansen, Vol. 3’ is available on all digital channels.
