Ein Abend in WORM: Les Cidres + Philipp Ernsting & More

German underground sounds in WORM
22:00
WORM

Ein Abend in WORM has for years been the premier event-series in Rotterdam for headstrong underground German pop culture. The series has hosted artists such as Palais Schaumburg, Der Plan, Wolf Müller / Jan Schulte, Chris Imler, Don’t DJ, Die Goldenen Zitronen, Bodenständig 2000, Transport, Asmus Tietchens and many others. In this edition, the Bühnelicht will focus on German makers and musicians living in Rotterdam. Annika and Jörg (both mostly known as Panda Lassow and Compliment) perform as Les Cidres and percussionist Philipp Ernsting will perform a duo set with Anne Bakker.

Don’t DJ (Berceuse Heroique, Sexes, Disk)
The Kreuzberg based artist Don’t DJ aka Florian Meyer makes hypnotic, textured, and original electronica that explores the meaning of music. As a DJ he is praised for his “smooth eclecticism” while his pivotal point is the style he releases on his DISK imprint. Don’t DJ seeks to inspire consciousness to wander beyond culturally suggested boundaries of the perception of reality.

Les Cidres (Panda Lassow & Compliment)
Les Cidres is the DJ tag team of Dresden expats Panda Lassow and Compliment. While their solo projects are rooted in a variety of music styles and tempos they accepted the back-to-back mixing challenge for some crossover fun. Les Cidres’ joyous sound can be filed somewhere between house, electro, acid, disco, synth and leftfield.

Ernsting Vs Bakker
Philipp Ernsting is a drummer from Lünen who has been active in Rotterdam for the better part of two decades. He is acclaimed for his versatile playing in genre-defying bands such as Albatre and Doktor Schnitt. Violinist/singer Anne Bakker is active in different scenes as well. Like Ernsting she doesn’t shy away from the experiment. This night the two will engage in a remarkable violin/drums/vocals performance.
