Made on a crowd-funded, shoestring budget, The Doom Doc offers a visceral, immersive look into a hazy black hole that lies at one extreme of the musical spectrum. Through the lens of doom the film explores issues such as drug use, mental health and gentrification, and Connor speaks with luminaries from the scene, including Bill Ward (original drummer of Black Sabbath) and members of Conan, Crowbar and Primitive Man.

The Doom Doc is presented in collaboration with IFFR and Baroeg. Baroeg is a venue in Rotterdam Lombardijen that has sworn fealthy to ‘loud’ music since the dawn of man. As such, Baroeg director Leon van Rijnsbergen will take place behind the decks. WORM’s own Richard Foster gives a short lecture that visualises life in Northern England and there is a dark recital by Rotterdam poet Vincent Niks (‘stelling people teleur since 1982’).
