Denovali label night
Ricardo Donoso (BRA)
A prolific solo artist, Ricardo Donoso has released music on esteemed labels such as Denovali, Digitalis, Further Records and Hospital Production. His latest LP, Human Resources, was released in June on Denovali Records. Made with his old friend Thiago Kochenborger under the moniker RDTK, the record is the summation of nearly two decades of friendship.
Having studied composition at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory, Donoso has participated in a great number of projects; with Ehnahre, Greg Barkers Homegrown: The Counter Terror Dilemma and the Grand Prize short film winner in Brazilian cinema Casimiro Effect. Donoso’s musical vocabulary draws as much from contemporary composition, drone, to techno and noise. Cinematic textures and progressive rhythms are the very essence of this new record.
Nadia Struiwigh (NL)
Nadia Struiwigh is an electronic music DJ & producer from Rotterdam. Sometimes reminiscent of the work of Biosphere and Board of Canada, Struiwighs refined downtempo electronica is full of synthesized soundscapes that flirt with ambient techno. Awash with melody and warm electronics, her release for Denovali, ‘Lenticular’, has the same grandeur and poise as something from Warps Artificial Intelligence series. This is slow-reveal ambient techno par excellence.
Orson Hentschel (DE)
Orson Hentschel is a composer and producer based in Berlin. playing classical piano from an early age, Hentsche now mainly composes electronic, experimental and film music. Influenced by classical minimal music, Hentschel’s sound is characterised by a large variety of musical structures which are often arranged specifically for contrast. His latest release, hot on the heels of his second LP ‘Electric Stutter’, (which investgated the influences of Trip-Hop and Electronic Pop Music) is the ‘Facades’ EP; which uses text as the primary musical element for composition.
