Cultfilm: The Amazing Transplant
In WORM’s Avantgardistic State we regularly screen wonderful cultfilms, curated by Alex Diehl.
Doris Wishman was a convinced nudist. That was the subject of her first film, HIDEOUT IN THE SUN (1961), which she borrowed money from relatives to make on her 35th birthday. At 80 years old she directed SATAN WAS A LADY and DILDO HEAVEN.
In the male-dominated sexploitation genre, she was the only woman who made films from a woman’s perspective, and with a distinct film style (lots of close-ups and bare skin), such as LET ME DIE A WOMAN. In the seventies her popularity began to diminish, partly due to the rise of hardcore movies as DEEP THROAT.
Cultfilm will introduce the evening and show trailers FROM her old films, as well as clips from the incredible double bill with DD model, Chesty Morgan.
Must be seen to believed!
