Avantgardistic Weekend Coming up! (21-23 April)
Bored? Nothing to do? No money this weekend? WORM has the answer. The weekend of 21 – 23 April is the perfect opportunity to experience the Avantgardistic State in all its variety and socio-cultural opulence!
1. FREE FRIDAY FUN at WORM
Enrich and balance your ON AND OFFLINE life-lines with Telemagic: the biggest Para-Tech fair in NL! And come down to earth to watch the brilliant American alt-rock-ambience band, Common Eider King Eider (feat Rob Fisk, Deerhoof), the eccentric Duchamp from the brilliant Italian Boring Machines label and outstanding Belgian euphoniumist, Niels van Heertum. Then cut some rug to ska and soul goodness by Capone 45!
(Note: If you DO want to spend some money you can take in the Glow in the WORM night at the outrageous Performance Bar. For the terribly expensive entrance fee of 3 euros.)
2. PAN-EUROPEAN PICNIC ON SATURDAY 22
That’s not all. Saturday sees the brilliant Serbian band Repetitor play. Repetitor are described as the “Nirvana for the 21st century” by Membranes singer & BBC culture commentator, John Robb. They headline a veritable PAN-EUROPEAN PICNIC of alternative rock with Poland’s Coals, Groningen’s WOLVON and Belgium’s enervating band, Cocaine Piss. Afterwards you can groove and gloop to Noodlebar‘s analogue wipe outs for the princely sum of 0 euros.
3. TOTALLY TURKOPSYCHED ON SUNDAY 23!
If you’re not sated by then, then Sunday brings literary chat with Frontaal, with Henk van Straten as the Grote Gast. AND the brilliant psych-pop of Gaye Su Akyol to WORM. Echoing both Turkey’s faded past and dramatic present, Gaye Su Akyol has become an important part of the new Turkish underground music scene.
WORM – the Avant-gardistic entertainment for the Mind and Body. Free / affordable prices.
